National Minimum Wage Update 2023

On April 1st, 2023, the UK’s national minimum wage increased by 7.5% from £8.91 to £9.56 per hour.

What’s changing?

  • National Living Wage (23+) – increasing 6.6% from £9.50 to £10.42
  • National Minimum Wage (21 – 22) – increasing 10.8% from £9.18 to £10.18
  • National Minimum Wage (18 – 20) – increasing 9.6% from £6.83 to £7.49

The increase is a result of the government’s commitment to ensuring fair wages for workers and reducing income inequality. It follows the recommendations made by the independent Low Pay Commission (LPC) that suggested an increase in minimum wage to reflect the current cost of living.
