Easter payments and opening times

The Easter holidays don’t seem far away now, so below we’ve included a summary of our opening hours and pay date:

We will be making payment for week ending Friday 15th April 1 day early on Thursday 14th April.

Payments will be made into your nominated bank account by 18.00hrs on this date.

People Group Services wants to help support the people of Ukraine. You can too, just by donating your pennies.

At least 3 million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they now face an uncertain future. One of the best ways to help is by donating cash through trusted charities and aid organisations.

Would you like to help us in raising much needed cash to help?

All we ask is that you opt to donate the pennies in your wages from your net pay. We will match your donation on a weekly basis and contribute to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

National insurance contributions increasing from 6th April

National insurance contributions are set to rise from 6th April 2022 for both employers and employees. The reason for the increase is to help fund both improvements to social care and also provide a boost for the NHS. It’s believed that this new legislation will see the Treasury’s purse grow significantly by an extra £12bn every year. The increase will affect almost everybody in employment. All Class 1 and Class 4 National Insurance tax rates will be increased by 1.25%.

National Living / Minimum Wage rises from 1st April 2022

April traditionally brings changes to National Minimum Wage Rates and statutory pay rates. Our table below shows the changes for the financial year 2022/2023.

Current rates

These rates are for the National Living Wage (for those aged 23 and over) and the National Minimum Wage (for those of at least school leaving age). The rates change on 1 April every year.

We’re always looking to keep our service levels as high as possible. Sharing your experience via a Google Review is a great way to help other contractors choose a payroll provider that will look after them. Not to mention we’d love to hear the feedback!

Refer a friend for £ rewards

Did you know you can refer a friend to People Group Services?

Anyone you refer will get a bonus of 1,000 benefits points with their first payslip, and you will receive £25.00 in your gross pay once they have received 4 payslips.

Simply enter their email address on your contractor portal under ‘Refer a friend’ and we will send the code directly to them.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022

There will be a four-day bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June 2022, meaning we will be given two days off work to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years of service. The late May bank holiday will be moved to Thursday 2nd June 2022 and the new, additional bank holiday will be on Friday 3rd June. People Group Services will be closed on these days Thursday 2^nd June and Friday 3^rd June to join in the celebrations.

Payroll dates will be affected but we will guarantee payment before the bank holiday. We will update you nearer the time regarding deadlines to ensure you receive your pay that week.

Holiday entitlement

The holiday year runs from 1st September to 31st August annually unless there is an alternative arrangement with your agency.

Please remember that if you have holiday entitlement you should take this when you are not working. If you take holiday in the weeks when you are not working or otherwise being paid this will minimise the tax you have to pay.

Holiday can be requested and booked through your contractor portal under the ‘Holiday’ tab.

Your P60

Your P60 for tax year 2021/22 will be available to view and download from 6^th April 2022.

This can be found under the ‘Payslip and P60’ section on your Contractor Portal.

Registered with a new agency?

Don’t forget to tell us if you are working with a new agency.

We have very good relationships with hundreds of recruitment agencies. The benefit to you is to have one employer ‘People Group Services’ while maximising your opportunity of work. Register with multiple agencies but have one employer and one payslip.
